Serving others...


The quote above is from a letter in the Bible in which the writer encourages the church to consider other people to be better than themselves. Christians should be in the business of encouraging one another to do the same, when we do things for people they know that God loves them. As the bible says , we love because we were first loved!


Of course by serving I don't mean trying to shoehorn Jesus into conversations, or hitting people round the heads (metaphorically or otherwise) with bible verses, but getting alongside people in their day to day lives and showing them that they mean more to God than they could possibly know. Helping with day to day chores, a kind word, a spare hour. Being a christian isn’t about trying to persuade others to "join our club". Rather, it’s about seeing people as God sees them, worthy not just of a polite hello, but of all the amazing things he wants to give to us as His children.
